Former Host to Take on Limited Run Until 2024 Presidential Election
Comedy Central Announces Stewart's Return to Host Mondays and Co-Executive the Program
In a surprising announcement, Comedy Central has confirmed that Jon Stewart will be returning to host The Daily Show on Mondays. Stewart, who originally hosted the show from 1996 to 2015, will serve as both host and executive producer for the limited run, which will continue until the 2024 presidential election.
Stewart's return comes after a year-long search for a replacement for Trevor Noah, who announced his departure in September 2022. During his tenure as host, Stewart became known for his incisive political and social commentary, earning numerous awards and accolades, including 20 Emmy Awards and two Grammy Awards.
