Nottingham Forest have reached an agreement with Liverpool to acquire Welsh defender Neco Williams.

Sources close to the clubs have revealed that the transfer fee will be approximately £17 million.

Williams, 23, joined Liverpool's academy in 2009. He made his senior debut in 2019 and has since made 33 appearances for the Reds.

However, Williams has struggled for regular playing time at Liverpool, with Trent Alexander-Arnold firmly established as the club's first-choice right-back. As a result, Williams has been seeking a move away in search of more opportunities.

Nottingham Forest are currently in the Premier League after securing promotion last season. The club is looking to strengthen its squad ahead of the new campaign, and Williams is seen as a valuable addition to their defense.
